Al, The map simply indicated an apparent dedicated ROW about where I-80 is now.. As I recall it was a couple of dotted parallel lines with the indication that it was AT&SF ROW... Of course there was just water and mud flats at the time... ..nothing ever blt. One could guess that the ROW extended on down to tie into tnen existing 40th St trackage. The ROW feature of the map was incidental to the much larger purpose of the map... Perhaps if you are in Berkeley you might find those old maps at the City Hall if it interests you. During the war..Santa Fe like all others ran many troop trains.. even the same day..
