I was attending this convention primarily to remember the WP, not to gripe about my pet peeves concerning the UP. Unfortunately, many of the postings recently have become excessively focused on me personally as the subject in this regard and they shouldn't be.

Also, not everything the UP does is flawed as they do seem (unlike in the area of dispatching) to have an effective management style when it comes to maitaining the operating functions of their railroad better than the SP or WP ever did like when they rebuilt that Trestle that caught on fire in the Arden area of Sacramento with a new concrete and steel one, that was AWESOME!!! And of course with roadbed and signaling improvements as well on a number of their lines.

This situation further shows the benifit to the UP of aquiring the former WP Feather River Route as a means as an alternative for trains to detour on when the Arden area trestle was out of commission.
