I believe Dick Seeyle's cryptic comments refer to Amtrak's Northeast Corridor services using Amfleet equipment. ( aluminum tubes ) Unfortunately this equipment, with its sliding doors, has a penchant to freeze shut in blizzard conditions. Iced up overhead electric wires can also be a problem in the current weather conditions, along with snow buildup in the yards & switches.
