Thanks for all the responses, it is interesting to hear all the different points of view of the possibilties of where 4449 would and could run these days. I do know on the double header in the Northwest that they did do certain movements on UP mainlines in the Portland area and in Tacoma, WA and stayed in the UP owned Fife yard while there but yes most movement was on BNSF Railway owned tracks. I would figure if 4449 does do anything on the UPRR mainline with UP it would be doubled up once again with one of their own UP steamers (likely the 844) and just a part of the UP Steam special for some type of heritage event if the situation PR wise looked positive and benificial for UP. Would be the only way I would figure you will ever see her do anything of significance on the UP.
