I can't see any changes in store. All the important decisions were made inhouse by the staff and presented as a fait accompli to the public. It would require repealing Prop 1A, which aint gonna happen. The politicians are useless; it doesn't matter who's elected governor. Even if they make an issue out of the hsr in the campaign, they will do nothing to upset the program once they get in office. They are either too stupid and/or too lazy to compare Tehachapis vs. Grapevine.
This thing is going to require subsidies, just like about everything else in California. But instead of trying something feasible and creative to raise revenue, like telling Nevada interests to go to hell and bring on our own casinos and gaming commission, all they want to do is overthrow Prop 13. Or trying to tax weed - who's going to pay tax on something you can grow in your back yard? I just throw my vote away on off party cadidates since the courts won't allow "none of the above" on the ballot.
