The LAT has been in decline for some time. They just don't seem to get it that you can't survive as a newspaper by catering to the sensibilities of just one part of town, i.e. the West side and ignore the rest of the city. The Daily News, which is basically viewed as the San Fernando Valley's paper is doing better than the LAT, but that's not saying much, I guess.

The Orange County Register is in just as much trouble. Its parent company is in bankruptcy, and the paper seems to have decided it wants to be just another paper that distributes AP content. That I can get almost anywhere, so why bother with the paper?
