A major winter storm passed through the mid-Atlantic region on December 19, 2009, dumping almost two feet of snow, closing airports, creating dangerous conditions on roadways, and causing disruptions on CSX. Many businesses and schools were closed following the storm, and the federal government in the Washington DC area was closed on Monday December 21st. On CSX's Metropolitan Sub three trains were stranded between Brunswick, MD and Washington DC due to frozen switches and outlawed crews. Trains began moving again on the Metropolitan Sub late in the afternoon the day following the storm. The first CSX train in over 15 hours to run over the Metropolitan Sub was train Q130, an east bound intermodal train, seen in this photo passing the historic former B&O depot at Point of Rocks, MD
