That spot, due to its promimty to and eaasy access from Highway 20 has been a location for snow play for years. It became even more popular when those Federal Slugs with the USFS started requiring Sno-Park permits at so many other accessable areas such as Nyack and Blue Canon. I rather imagine that any engineer with any amount of time on the hill is aware of the hazard.
