Dan Walter's problem with this piece is that it is all "spin", with little or no factual knowledge of the actual history of why the NWP had to shut down, or of the true problems with the failure of the State to make good on its commitments. What little money has been accessed has been used primarily for basic even minimal remediation and almost no funds have been available to any real capital upgrade work. 101 is a disaster through this corridor, and, if properly financed and administered, rail service restoration could have positive and economically viable impacts to the corridor and the communities it serves.
