Following New Mexico's lead in supporting the C&TS, the state of Idaho has purchased MILW 261 to power a proposed tourist train on St. Maries River Railroad's former MILW main line trackage between St. Maries and Plummer, Idaho. Funding has also been allocated for the purchase of a matched set of Hiawatha cars. Steam fans will be pleased to know the 261 will be on the point in both directions (no need for a diesel-powered reverse move) since there are wyes at St. Maries and at Plummer Jct.

And now...back to reality.
