Alerted by Brian Bergtold, here's today's article about Cemex Corporation's announcement to close its cement plant in Davenport. There will be no resumption of cement operations. The Sierra Railroad looks screwed for the most part. They are stuck with a lease and not too much hope of additional business. The Santa Cruz Branch will probably be getting more storm damage too if the weather keeps up. If I were them, I'd nix the lease with UP and send the 48 back to Oakdale.
