David, you and your predecessors at AP have been providing one of the most important, vital, and worthwhile product lines in the field of railroading. A far cry from the likes of the $10 junk rags that show up on the newsstands from time to time, as in the movie mag mentioned in a previous thread. Whether loading gear for a trip or gathering source material for a writing project, a smart railfan's list of "must haves" always included AP TT's. You're wise and justified to make this decision based on economics. There aren't many rail publishing avenues out there today which pay what the time and effort are worth. If the printing and mailing costs are your biggest factor, you should explore the option of selling all future TT's as a downloadable PDF. You do the same digital work as before. If the buyer wants a hard copy, let them pay for their own ink and paper. It might pay off.
