Altamont Press App on a Smart Phone?

After thinking about David Curlee's post about the tepid response for contributions etc, I was wondering if railfans would pay money for Railfan Timetable type content, but thru a smartphone GPS linked app. Fans in the field could get content relating to their location, roster info, profiles, track charts etc. The mind fairly boggles, but would railfans pay for it? And, is there anybody out there with the money and talent to pull it off?
