Check the topo map option on www.gmap-pedometer.com
If you navigate around San Jose's old industrial area bounded by I-280, Monterey Rd, Senter Rd and Phelan Ave, you'll see where the SP and WP industrial tracks once ran.
From the former WP Williams St yard, the tracks passed under I-280, crossed Story Rd, ran SE along Senter Rd, then curved around SJ Municipal baseball stadium. Running SW & parallel to Phelan Ave, the tracks crossed Monterey Rd and Almaden Rd.
Continuing northwest, the tracks intersected Alma Rd/Minnesota Ave, Willow St and Coe Ave. A short bridge over Los Gatos Creek, then the tracks continued NW under I-280, turned NE at Auzerais, crossed West San Carlos and Park Ave, then ended at the WP freight house at The Alameda.
Pretty much all of the track is gone, except the bridge at Los Gatos Creek. The City of San Jose is trying to preserve the remaining ex-WP right of way for bike and pedestrian trails connecting Kelley Park to Willow Glen, but a few buildings have already been constructed on parcels that the UP sold to developers before the city decided to act.
