In 1985 I was Project Engineer for the contractor that replaced 13 miles of track and 93 turnouts at Seal Beach. The rail was 112# rail from the Milwaukee in Montana (it had very little wear). The turnouts were new 115#. (112# and 115# has the same fishing so comp bars were not required. Although the rehab work was 25 years ago, I cannot believe that the Weapons Station had that much tonnage to reduce the life of the tracks.
