You are absolutely right on both counts! If I could go back and correct the posting, I would. It's interesting about its. It's my understanding that at one time it was exactly the opposite in the English language. The possessive form of its was it's but now its its and not it's. Its modifiers and contractions cause its to be misused, even among its biggest fans.
If it's okay, please accept my apology. It's a mistake I sometimes make.
