I'm thinking of a day trip to Santa Maria and Guadalupe. I'd take a day off from work so I could do this on a weekday.

I'd love any advice anyone can give me on the following.

1) Santa Maria Valley Railway operations, any reliable times or catch as catch can?

2) UP Guadalupe jobs? Any specific times it's likely to be there.

3) Buelton - are the two trolley cars built into the diner still there?

4) Lompoc - is it possible to photograph any of the rail activity in the White Hills Mine? Are those little trolley locomotives visible from public areas?

5) Lompoc 2 - any reliable time to try and catch the UP local?

6) Calle Real Trestle - is there a good shot to be had from the beach, and if so, how do you get to the beach?
