Nice pictures. I worked at McClellan AFB from 1977 until it closed in 2001. Used to go off base at lunch break and watch trains.

MCAFB had an extensive rail system (most of the track is still there) with two 40-tonner GE's and a self-propelled brownhoist crane. In the heyday of the base the locos and crane were kept waxed and looking brand-new. But then, there were 24,000 people working at the base.
