Don't nit pick about the fact that it is a railroad bridge and not a trestle but I have to commend our local politicos for this effort. A few years ago on the opposite side of the bridge as you drive "west" into Salinas, there is a wonderful logo welcoming you to "Oldtown Salinas". Contrary to all predictions, they have kept it totally free of graffiti and it looks great. The UP was amazingly cooperative about letting them do this and it has been a very pleasant sight.This is the side as you drive "east" out of Salinas heading toward the rodeo grounds and 101.
