Mike, Where is Fulton, and what [shipper?] is there? I am glad to know that they plan to run somehere prior to a second rainy season. We all know what a rainy season can do. As for me, i'll try to be optimistic, but by this time there is a touch of skepticism. David's tongue in cheek comment makes me wonder if anybody has looked at a scrap value here to compare to the value of an operating railroad. It might be an interesting analysis. I was amazed that the 80 miles of the Mccloud south of Mccloud had a net scrap value of 3.5 million dollars. This was for 85-90 pound rail [a lot worn out-and not reusable as rail]. The 140 miles or so to Willits was heavier and newer rail, and the north end is worth something. Obviously the value of the dream of an operating railroad is over 7 figures [maybe eight?]. hmmm? All this for 1800 carloads in the first year, and a goal of 5000 eventually on the south end. Of course, the NCRA data shows the south end alone is marginal. March on to the Port of Humboldt!REH
