CCT hirails the out of service section every 60 days to be sure no one has taken any rail or track materials, check for trespassers, encroachments, and theft of signal equipment, damage to the right of way from weather and the condition of the bridges, CCT also uses this inspection to address vegitation control . This way if the line needs to be put back into service the railroad knows whats needed and how long it takes to get it ready to go.
