This was taken in the spring of 1944 when the Salt Lake Air Base was new and troop trains were often moved by the two McGuire Cummings combines.... On one occasion they reportedly pulled some 22 Pullmans... Unfortunately after getting off and running thru the sage brush it was too late to catch the consist with the poles in a pulling position. Here they are ready to shove into the base.. Sorry the shot isn't clearer. It was scanned from an original print likely made 66 yrs ago...
