Report suspicious activity

In light of a recent train burglary that occurred in the Williams-Coconino County area, the Williams Police Department (WPD) and city of Williams officials are issuing the following awareness bulletin -

If any citizen observes any suspicious activity involving unknown individuals or vehicles in the following areas, they are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agency -

• On private ranches.
• On private roads and accesses.
• On county and city roads near or adjacent to railroad property or tracks.
• National Forest Service roads and property.
• Private roads, tracks and property belong to BNSF Railroad.

Do not attempt to approach or contact these individuals as they are potentially dangerous. Citizens are reminded if any activity is observed to please call local law enforcement agencies immediately - WPD, (928) 635-4461; Coconino County Sheriff's Department, (928) 774-4523; Department of Public Safety, (928) 773-3600; and the National Park Service, (928) 638-7805.
