Gentlemen (and Ladies): "Start your Engines" ...
From a guy that LIVES UP HERE, I present two or three possible (and GREAT) viewing//train chase locations for this Saturday's historic 4449//844 STEAM trip, Tacoma to Everett and Return...

1. PUYALLUP, WA... "Stewart Avenue", West & East, between 66th Ave, East, off of River Road, on the South end... Up to Meridian Ave on the North end...

"Main Street/ Pioneer Ave" from Meridian (downtown) heading North for a spell...

2. SEATTLE, WA ... Black River Junction in Tukwila...
"Airport Way" between Boeing Access Road (I-5) on the South, to "Georgetown" Brewery buildings and Lucille Street on the North...
Airport Way bisects RR mainline on the EAST and Boeing Field on your immediate WEST side of street...
A very nice LONG straight run for these Mama's to open up and move out...

Historic Note: For the full-length of Airport Way just mentioned, the COLOR of the pavement of the two Northbound lanes is different than the color of the Southbound lanes, looking down the centerline.. That is because the two Northbound lanes takes the area that used to be the private right-of-way for the old "Seattle-Tacoma Interurban Line"... The old Interurbans used to have RACES with the steam locomotive engineers of parallel Northern Pacific trains... The trains of the Milwaukee Road and Pacific Coast Railway operated down the center of the long stretch to the immediate EAST of the NP//BNSF right of way... Just thought you might like to know!!)

3. BNSF RR & Spokane Street off of I-5

BNSF RR & Lander Street

BNSF RR & Holgate Street

BNSF RR & Atlantic St//Edgar Martinez Drive "OVERPASS" at Safeco Field..
Great overhead views looking SOUTH for quite a distance over AMTRAK coach yard,
Sounder Yard and Mains...

BNSF RR & Royal Brougham St. between SAFECO and QWEST Fields..

BNSF RR at or within KING STREET STATION, 4th & Jackson Sts..

NORTH Portal of BNSF TUNNEL just SOUTH of Broad Street and Alaska Way along the North end of the Seattle waterfront.....

FULL length of 15th Avenue, West(aka ELLIOT AVE) between outdoor Seattle Art Museum grounds on the South and BNSF RR INTERBAY Yard on the North..
Note: There are several retail parking lots on WEST side of 15th paralleling the mains.. No fences. No trespassing.. Be careful!! Have FUN..

I believe there is a PUBLIC overpass overhanging INTERBAY YARD.. Walker Ave, maybe..??? Can't remember...

Long stretch of mainline along the WATER.. Check out the Seattle LOCKS area and the famous big BASCULE bridge... Golden Gardens area...

MARINE TRAFFIC: If you have a shallow draft BOAT, you can chase for a long ways along the shoreline NORTH of the Seattle Locks..

That's all for now.. Everybody have a GREAT time.. Be sensible. Be SAFE.
Watch for POLICE !!

Cheers.
