I walked the right of way in Novato on a regular basis this spring and am of the belief that although the line looks good over by Black Point, it appears that Balfour-Beatty lost interest by the time the tie replacement work got to Novato...... lots of rotten or basically non-existent ties with a few new ones here and there. All of which is OK I guess considering that someday SMART will make the line look the 150 m.p.h. Amtrak line in Rhode Island. I hope I live long enough to see it.
