To add to Dicks fine report, the Sierra and Donner Pass in particular has experienced its coldest and snowiest April-May period since 1998. April, 2010 saw 85" of since followed by 63" in May. There was 70" on the ground on this morning of May 28th. On this date in 1998 there was 76" of snow on the ground.
