Cool report! I was up at Shed 47 all day Friday, so looks like I missed you (and the 1982!) by a day. Snow was melting fast. I didn't even bother with the snowshoes to get up there. Per the Donner norm, mostly quiet during the day with traffic really picking up as the afternoon wore on. I caught to GP38-s with icicle breakers up heading east around 7pm. No flanger with them, just a single gondola that they were taking all the way to Sparks.

And speaking of Donner, just curious for anyone in the know, what's the deal with that 1x1 stack train? I know the KMNOA/KOAMN runs 1x1 sometimes, but I've also seen it running as big as 4x1. Is the 1x1 always this train, or does UP run multiple trains in this configuration? Thanks!
