Time for some positive stuff from me.
My list includes some of the people mentioned above and some new ones.
Ted Benson, I shot pictures with Ted and his wife in the WP passenger yards in Oakland in the sixties (when you could do that stuff) Ted always had a good word and a positive attitude. And always lots of stories.
Virgil Staff, This was a truly wonderful man. To say he is missed is an understatement. I was very lucky last March to be on the same train (#4) with his wife. We talked and talked over dinner about all the things he had done. I was very happy to hear she was going to live with her family (who was on the train with her) She told me he was in a lot of pain before he died but she knew he was happy now.
Guy Dunscomb and Richard Steinmeimer, I only met these to men once. I was very impressed with there tallent and I have several books by them both in my collection.
And finally, C.G. Himmerdinger Jr. I met him in 1968 at PLA when they were still in Richmond.
I did not see a lot of him until after I was discharged from the Military. When I started going back to PLA he was still doing his thing. We lost touch for several years until the some time later. Again we lost touch. But after our move to Coeur d Alene I found out he was and is living in Spokane. After 40 plus years with the SP he is a huge library on the SP.
