Not a speeding ticket, but I was trying to photograph a southbound BN freight at Stronghold, where the BN crossed the SP (at that time) and I was parked on the side of the road. A CA state trooper pulled over and asked for (rather demanded) my license, registration, insurance, and all that stuff. Meanwhile the BN train was approaching, and I asked if I could take the photo I had been patiently waiting on for a half-hour. "No!" he said, noting my car was parked several inches inside the white stripe denoting the edge of the highway. He then noticed my traveling bag in the back seat which had a bottle of shaving notion and demanded to see it, saying it might be alcohol. As he checked this out to see that it was, in fact, shaving lotion, the train sailed past and I missed my shot. And then he let me go. What a jerk!
