Yeah, David, funny you should bring that up...I was pondering exactly that portion of the CCT just the other day. I was thinking it would make a great rails-to-trail, but of course that would only be the case if there was no possibility of running trains on it again. What about that? Since there are already two main lines connecting Sac with Stockton, what possible future could the CCT trackage have? If additional capacity were needed, wouldn't it be cheaper to add it to the currently active lines rather than entirely rebuild the CCT?
