New Conductor Certification rules are coming in about 2 years and will be known as Part 242. It includes training, qualification and de-certificaiton provisions. The next step will be a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking by the FRA in the coming months followed by public notice and comment and the final rule taking effect perhaps in a year with a phase in period.

Also new medical standards for various employees, training standards, new alcohol-drug test provisions are in the pipeline.
