The BNSF line South of Klamath Falls is the ex - Great Northern 'Inside Gateway ', built in the 1920's to connect to Western Pacific's 'Northern California Extension', running North from Keddie, CA. This connection formed the famous Keddie Wye. North of K - Falls GN/BN/BNSF uses trackage rights over SP/UP to Chemelt. OR, where the GN/OT line runs to Wishram, WA., on the SP&S/BN/BNSF Fallbridge Sub along the North bank of the Columbia River.
