The trip itself almost got stopped in, shall we say, its tracks. As we headed thru the refinery, I don't think we had done a photo stop there, Standard Oil security people showed up and were not exactly pleased at a bunch of camera packing railfans inside their confines. I don't recall who was the Central Coast excursion director but between him and someone with the Santa Fe decided that, as long as we didn't take photos while inside the refinery, we could proceed.
