We had use of both the caboose and the gondola. Santa Fe had cut a hole in the end of the gon and put is some wood for a walkway. I will have to look at my other slides but, if memory serves, they had built a bench inside that ran most of the length of the car.

I don't know if the gon was modified for this trip or it was something ATSF had kicking around Richmond. Can you just imagine the screams of pain from the legal department if they tried to run this trip today.

As Mary Hopkin one sang "Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end".
