Bob Larson from Roseburg reported on the "signed deal" bewteeen the CORP and RFP. He also maintains that he will operate the YWR. He has had his eye on the YWR for many years and never had a dime to back it up.
Hopefully traffic will return to the Siskyou Line. TP and the Siskiyou Line operator, CORP or whom ever, would still have to negotiate a deal with YWR to move TP traffic. Considering how TP and the Shippers Coaltion have treated the YWR, they might be hard pressed to get any cooperation out of the YWR. TP still has their trucking options, which they have held over the YWR's head for many years. I have heard that the YWR owners can be difficult to deal with if they feel they are being forced into any position rather than a cooperative effort.
YWR has a small loyal group and some very talented volunteers that are still lending a helping hand. Unfortunately, there are a few that still sit on the sidelines, waiting to see what happens, or for that. "I told you so" moment that is more important than particpating in efforts to make something positive happen.
Until someone gets a real quote from the YWR owners, who probably know alot about the behind the scenes issues with the Siskyou Line and the YWR, rumors and "nay sayer's" will continue.
