I think Tom Moungovan has the correct assessment: Where will it run if it is even restored ??? Even established efforts such as Santa Fe 3751 only operate occasionally, and usually under the auspices of someone other than the freight RR's. Another big steamer restored, is just another group to pester BNSF/Metrolink/Amtrak/someone else with unrealistic requests to " play Choo-Choo." This will apply to Santa Fe 2926 also, I fear. A cosmetic restoration, and protection from the elements, is a more realistic goal. Cheaper too...
