SP Four unit Truckee Helper Westbound Sept 1996

A few days ago, when I first scanned this slide my first thought was that it was an Eastbound.
Closer examination shows someone in the cab of the unit against the cars and no one in SD40T2 #8373. Too much smoke for down hill and they are on what was then the #1 track.
