The 803 is a "runner"; BC engine, roller bearings; alignment couplers etc. The 602 is a "rebuilder" in that it has a straight "B" engine and friction bearings. Once it is converted to roller bearings and the engine resealed, it most likely will end up in a grain elevator or such.

The reason that we decided to surplus the two units is that the 602 had been used as a parts source and the 803 was a standby unit. Once we got the SW-900 #901 which is kept at the Canby industrial park inside a fence we had a readily available backup unit just a few miles away.

The high probability that the 602 and 803 would eventually be hit by the copper thieves made the decision to trade them in on the GMD1 #1413 painful but a necessary business decision.
