Without the hieroglyphics, the above poster is attempting to suggest the Cantara Loop, just south of the town of Mt. shasta. It is 62 miles north of Redding.

This is what it looked like from northbound Amtrak Starlight in May 2008, right after the Pengra Pass (southern Oregon) mess was cleaned up.
