Contrary to what Otto Mears claimed, the line has been able to cover actual operational expenses but can't cover capital improvements which are funded by state/federal grants. If they can use that money to get equipment running and allowing for more operations and thus get more riders and more revenue, it could be self-sustaining in the long term. That is the goal.
