It seems to me that trains were to run by 2008. At least that was the latest claim by NCRA. However, if grade crossing signal work contracts have not even been let, a start up date of 2008 seems to be another pipe dream. A guessitmate to accomplish this work would by a liberal estimate would take six months. After that rails, ties, bridges, culverts etc will need to be cleaned and or installed and inspected. Along with this will be the Marin folks objecting to noise, traffic delays, etc, etc which will again delay the start up date. It would not surprise me to see the same people who were responsible for the closure of Hamilton Air Force base come out from under their rocks and prevent NWP from operating thru their "community". Bottom line the NWP will have a slim to no chance of running between Lombard and Windsor any time this century.
