SP 4449, Sacramento River Bridge April 29th, 1977

On the way home to Portland, SP 4449 had worked cross-country with an Amtrak excursion and is seen in this photo crossing the Sacramento River Bridge in Redding, California, on April 29th 1977. This bridge marks the Western (geographically Southern) end of the relocation constructed to bypass the SP right of way flooded by the construction of Shasta Dam.
