I spent last weekend camping at Cruzatte in the Oregon Cascades. Traffic here is down considerably due to the ongoing effects of the economic downturn, the weak California housing market, and more Oregon lumber going via the Columbia Gorge and Ogden rather than the Cascades and Roseville. Even so, it's still special experience to listen to a heavy southbound grinding up the grade for over an hour on a moonlit summer night.
