Overheard on the scanner today, a conversation between a crew arriving at Spokane from Eastport and their dispatcher. They were talking about having made the 113-mile run in 4 hours, 20 minutes. They might well have had the line to themselves to make that time, but those of us familiar with "normal" operations know how long that straight shot would have taken 10 years ago, and the amount of dogcatching that used to happen in the past between those terminals.
