YW #19 in freight service... Steam!

Jeez, I go away for a week and the board fills up with gobs of stuff about helicopters, the NWP and lawdy knows what else.

Meanwhile, last Friday found Yreka Western #19 called into freight service. This last minute call to service was the result of the MRS-1 having some electrical gremlins.

I was fortunate enough to be the fireman, though I had arrived in town figuring on just working in the shop that day. We switched and moved eight loads from the mill to Montague, and returned with eight empties, rolling into Yreka after dark. To add to the fun, we were rolling through one of the nastiest thunderstorms I've seen in years. It was a feast for the senses!

More steam powered revenue freight? There is a chance it may happen again this week, but no promises...
