I agree, I grew up with the Milwaukee Road in Idaho and the retrenchment in March of 1980 was a big blow to me. I spent a few years in California and then moved to New Mexico in 1972 and became a SP fan. I took some vacation time to run to Colorado and shoot Tennessee Pass from August 23-25th, 1996 and got some nice shots despite one of my camera's having problems. I could not get September 10th or 11th, 1996 off from work so I had to settle for a trip to Vaughn, NM on September 8th, 1996 to shoot my last SP trains.
