Sad to say, the entire HSR project from start to where it is now is fraught with idocies on all sides-----------given the environmental stance of the California peoples, the basic seismic geography of the proposed ROW's, the interests of the farmers through whose property some of the proposed routes would go, plus the refusal of the railroads to let them share their ROW,not to mention all of the politicians who want it to stop in their area thereby reducing the speed to crawl, this is just never going to happen and is funding lots of consultants and lots of state committee members and not a shovel has been turned or a piece of track laid and it all goes on and on and on, sucking money out of the state/federal coffers into which we have put our hard earned tax dollars------------and I am sure that Rod Diridon is still getting some kind of compensation for all of his contributions to the HSR "cause" going to all the meetings and etc.. :)
