Photo 2: ATSF 5257 an SDF40-2 at Walong on May 14, 1989. According to one Web site, "Built as Amtrak SDP40F 622; acquired 9/84, Amtrak markings removed; reblt 3/85 to SDF40-2 5257."

Photo 3: ATSF 5996 an FP45u at Walong on May 15, 1989. Evan Werkema said, "The 5996 was one of seven FP45's that got SPSF red and yellow in 1985-86, and the question is which ones returned to blue and yellow paint before the Superfleet red and silver scheme was adopted in mid-1989. At least three did, 5993, 5998, and 5996. The 5996 (as red and silver 96) was the FP45 destroyed in the December 1994 Cajon runaway."
