For those who are wondering what we're talking about, the breakers bars are the steel strips SP added to the roof of the locomotives, two towards the front along the outside of the roofline and one near the rear along the centerline of the roof. Their purpose was to break off icicles that might otherwise damage dome car windows. If you compare the front breakers on the 6456 to the ones on the rear unit, you'll see the the 6456's are mounted in the opposite direction.
Do you have a pic of the 378, Drew? It also received breakers bars, but nobody seems to know why.
