Quite correct Matt, however the YW was still a steam railroad around this time. I don't think
that the Bamberger unit came on the property until a few years later.
Getting back to the original news item in Western Railroader...about the same time
(mid 50's) it was reported by the same mag that SP 2-8-0 2759 was being held for sale
to Hammond Lbr. up by Eureka and in a later issue, was sold to them for use as a log hauler.
This turned out be be premature. The sale never occurred, but it is important to note
that Western Railroader was quick to note this in their magazine. I feel that they would
have done the same thing had the info concerning McCloud 25 also been in error. The 2759
stayed on SP property quite late and was not scrapped until October of '60.
